JOB SUMMARY The Cocktail Server is responsible for serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests throughout the property, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. All duties are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position) Take guest orders, serves drinks and collects monies in a courteous and efficient manner. Adhere to cash handling procedures. Ensure guest satisfaction in assigned areas and other areas if necessary. Adhere to state liquor laws and Alcohol Awareness Certification (AAC) training guidelines. Keep bar and service area clean, sanitary, and organized always. Adhere to beverage control procedures. Adhere to all regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discretely notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations. Promote positive guest and team member relations. EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent Six (6) months experience in food or beverage experience PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a similar resort setting. Previous experience working in a high-volume and fast-paced food or beverage setting. Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid Alcohol Awareness Card Union Referral Proof of eligibility to work in the United States KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills. Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms. Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately . Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts. Basic mathematical skills specific to job responsibilities, to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities. Must possess knowledge of both food and beverage items. Ability to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
