Born from the entrepreneurial spirit of renowned hotelier Antonio Catalan, AC Hotels offer concept-driven, purposeful design for signature moments and no unwanted extras.Vesta Hospitality is looking for a talented individual to help fill the role of PM Houseman for its AC by Marriott Hotel at the Vancouver waterfront.The 150-room AC by Marriott Hotel opened in June 2022, featuring 7,000 sq ft of event space (all with river view), restaurant and lounge with outdoor seating, and spectacular views of the Columbia River.If you have the talent, experience and attitude for a dynamic PM Houseman, we invite you to join our team.POSITION SUMMARYThe Houseperson ensures assigned room attendants have all supplies required to clean rooms in a timely manner and ensure all assigned floors are free of debris and linen.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties:Supply room attendants with all supplies required to maintain and clean guest rooms.Ensure all assigned floors are clear of debris and linen.Maintains assigned vending alcoves.Stocks and maintains closets with shipments as they arrive.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Empties trash on assigned elevator landings.Delivers amenities requested by in house guests.Stocks shipments in designated closets.Assists with pulling linen from linen chute when necessary.Assists with flipping mattresses and moving furniture when necessary.Keeps all assigned floors neat, vacuumed and dustedAssists guests with questions or concerns when approached.Makes sure all surfaces are clean and tidy on assigned floors.ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with guests and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to supervisor.Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve hotel and company goals.Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSAbility to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Computer Skills:Has the minimal skills necessary to operate a computer. Can log on to a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications and enter information into a database.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those an team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
