GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Hourly
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Provide students and staff with a clean and safe enviroment which to learn and develop, while ensuring building and system longevity through proper maintenance and care; supervise building custodial staff.
MAJOR TASKS:
* Performs custodial, grounds, minor repairs, and routine maintenance as needed.
* Confers with teachers and administrators and provides necessary maintenance repairs to building.
* Reports need for major repairs to Facilities & Construction department and manages work orders.
* Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for the building and carries it out.
* Provides work instructions and methods, trains and orients building custodians.
* Orders, receives, and checks equipment and supplies.
* Performs maintenance on HVAC equipment, i.e. motors, belts, filters.
* Keeps accurate records of supplies and maintenance of equipment.
* Prepares work schedules and issues assignments to custodians.
* Maintains supply inventories.
* Reads all job related information.
* Understands and applies safety-related precautions as outline in MSDS.
* Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
* Supervises building custodians.
* Performs additional duties as assigned by building Principal and/ or Director of Facilities & Construction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Ability to relate to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
* Two or five years experience in custodial services.
* Prior supervisory experience preferred.
* Basic understanding and/or training in all major construction trades, i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and irrigation systems.
* Ability to lift and manipulate materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
* Ability to operate job-related equipment.
