Responsibilities Help to restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disability.  Assist in restoring, maintaining, and promoting overall fitness and health.  Examine patients' medical histories. Tests and measures patients' strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function. Determine patients' ability to be independent and reintegrate into the workplace or community after injury or illness. Develop plans describing a treatment strategy, its purposes, and its anticipated outcome. Plan often includes exercise regimens at the clinic and at home to increase flexibility, strength, or endurance. May use electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and ultrasound to relieve pain and reduce swelling. Teach patients how to use assistive and adaptive devices such as crutches, prostheses, and wheelchairs.  Document patients' progress, conduct periodic examinations, and modify treatments with emphasis on identification of areas requiring more/less attention. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school Current/valid state Physical therapist licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)2 years related experience Preferred: Master's Degree in Physical Therapy Benefits of working as a Physical Therapist in Sherwood, AR:
