Summary/Objective:
Novellus Living is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-Time (30 hours), Monday thru Friday
*additional work hours for special projects and annual audits may be required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process and reconciles multistate payroll on a semi-monthly basis, including withholdings and check requisitions for payroll for Community/ Field employees.
Calculate and verify timecards have been approved without missed punches.
Ensure that bonuses, commissions, and deductions are processed with accuracy.
Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
Prepare and distribute paychecks, direct deposits, and payroll reports.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax returns and year-end documents.
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and benefit deductions.
Knowledge of, and ability to research individual state payroll laws.
Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis related to payroll as requested.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Position Requirements:
Related field experience or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferred.
3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of complex executive meetings.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Possess strong organization skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.
