Description:
As a Payment Posting Specialist, you'll play a vital role within our hospital revenue operations, ensuring accurate billing, collections, and payment posting processes. You'll be an integral part of our Patient Business Services team, dedicated to maintaining the financial health of our organization. Reporting to the Supervisor of Payment Posting, you'll contribute to the seamless functioning of our revenue cycle process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, post, and reconcile all incoming cash payments, adhering to established procedures.
- Balance daily cash receipts with posted amounts to ensure accuracy.
- Provide detailed documentation of discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Track payment activity and communicate findings to supervisors.
- Adhere to proactive practices to ensure timely and accurate cash posting.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to address payment-related issues.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- One year of experience in revenue cycle functions or related fields.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing processes and regulations preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- This position operates in a typical office environment.
- Manual dexterity required for keyboard operation.
- Ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, and adapt to interruptions.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance with organizational policies and procedures is essential.
