Job Summary The Clinical Assistant provides clinical patient care support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse. In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the Clinical Assistant is responsible for the care of the patient. The Clinical Assistant adheres to and is supportive of the hospital and the department of Nursing mission and philosophy.
Job responsibilities Recognizes changes in patient status and reports appropriate information to registered nurse . Assists with admission, transportation and discharge of patients Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span of the patient to include neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Assists patient with dressing and undressing Assists patient with grooming and maintaining proper and clean appearance Assists patient with elimination/toileting needs Assists the patient with oral care Assists patients in transferring, repositioning, alignment and ambulation Accommodates patient's needs through responding appropriately to patient's verbal/nonverbal expressions of needs Safeguards patient's property Keeps patient's living areas pleasant and orderly Maintains patient's self esteem , privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Provides patients with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their plan of care. Assures patient's rights are protected and that all patients, families, and significant others are made aware of patient's rights.
