Patient Accounts Specialist 1 Location Nashville, TN : Responsibilities The Patient Accounts Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of Medicaid redetermination processes. This position involves making target outreach to pregnant and postpartum individuals undergoing Medicaid redetermination, guiding them through the redetermination process, and assisting them with navigation to appropriate resources and submission of necessary documentation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Call Handling: Initiate outbound calls to individuals eligible for Medicaid redetermination. Clearly and effectively communicate the purpose of the call and guide recipients through the redetermination process. Handle inquiries, providing accurate and timely information as needed. 2. Documentation Assistance: Educate Medicaid recipients on the required documentation needed for redetermination. Assist individuals in gathering and submitting necessary paperwork for redetermination. 3. Data Collection and Verification: Collect accurate and up-to-date information from individuals during phone interactions. Verify and cross-reference provided information with existing records to ensure data integrity. 4. Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about Medicaid regulations, policies, and procedures related to redetermination. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines throughout the redetermination process. 5. Problem Resolution: Identify and address customer concerns or issues, escalating problems to the appropriate channels when necessary. Work collaboratively with team members to find solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. 6. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions with Medicaid recipients. Document any changes or updates related to redetermination status. 7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns professionally and courteously. Represent the organization positively to build trust and rapport with Medicaid recipients. 8. Reporting: Generate and submit regular reports on redetermination progress as directed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in public health, healthcare administration, or related field is a plus. Fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is required for effective communication as this role will involve interacting with a diverse population of clients or customers. Prior experience in a call center, customer service, patient accounts, or Medicaid-related roles is preferred. Familiarity with Medicaid regulations and redetermination processes is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to navigate and utilize relevant computer systems and software. Creating a comfortable and productive remote workspace is essential for successful job performance. Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate peak call times.
