The Organization Rhubarb is a chef-driven, farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville serving modern Appalachian cuisine with genuine hospitality. What does that mean? The Person  As a Pastry Sous Chef at Rhubarb, you champion Southern foodways with modern sensibilities. You believe that the whole process is important when it comes to dining: from sourcing our produce and proteins locally and farm-direct with sustainability, to working as a team to execute a consistent experience for our guests. You are an autonomous person but enjoy working in a small team. 
The Role Assist the Pastry Chef in leading the department which includes an all scratch-made in-house program for breads, pastries, and plated desserts for Rhubarb and The Rhu as well as select wholesale accounts Manage and assist with production, as well as training Pastry Prep Cooks. Production includes but is not limited to: an advanced bread program, laminated doughs, morning pastries, cakes, and seasonal rotating plated desserts inspired by local produce.
