Seeking Clinical Physician Ophthalmology for Excellent VA Opportunity in Muskogee, OK Position Information The VA Eastern Oklahoma Healthcare System (EOVAHCS) is actively recruiting a staff Physician in Ophthalmology to help care for our veterans, America's Heroes. We have opportunities for involvement with the education and teaching of residents, medical students, and other providers. EOVAHCS consists of two ambulatory care centers, a tertiary care facility, and eight community-based outpatient clinics. EOVAHCS serves veterans residing in multiple counties throughout the Eastern Oklahoma region. There are 55,000 Veterans in the EOVAHCS service area. Ophthalmology is accountable to the Chief of Eye Care Services. Ophthalmology is aligned under the Department of Surgery and is responsible for managing the most effective ophthalmic care, including cataract surgery and comprehensive Ophthalmology. The candidate should have experience in cataract surgery and comprehensive Ophthalmology. Additional training in a subspecialty will be considered. The candidate should be able to work with our optometric colleagues to provide seamless care to the Veterans we serve.
Work Schedule : Full-time, MondayFriday (you will be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 full-time physician). Work will be performed primarily in the outpatient clinic and operating room. The facility accepts very little trauma, but some trauma care may be needed.
Must be a U.S. citizen Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology, Excellent personal relationship skills and clinical expertise are preferred. A sign-on bonus will be offered, and there is potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000. Starting pay is  $270,000.00 to $348,000.00 per year.
Preferred Experience:  Board certification by the American Medical Association (AMA) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
