Job Duties of the HIM Director:
Ensuring timely and accurate coding of hospital and physician charges
Medical Records completion and storage, transcription verification, clinical documentation improvement, patient releases of information, and data collection.
Supervision of HIM staff
Requirements for the Director of HIM
5+ years of HIM Management level experience.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in HIM preferred.
RHIT or RHIA.
Coding certified from AAPC or AHIMA preferred
