Posting Identification Number ******** Position Overview The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire an office administrator to supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of the clerical staff, performing a variety of specialized and technical tasks involving assistance to customers.
Job Responsibilities Coordinates and directs the activities of the clerical staff in the financial and files unit. Serves as a working supervisor. Prepares weekly and monthly management reports. Leads the clerical team in staff development. Serves as backup Office Manager. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably in the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of study at a secretarial/business college and two (2) years of office experience OR completion of high school and four (4) years of Office Assistant experience OR four (4) years independent business experience. Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of professional experience directing and supervising the work of a non-professional office staff. Two (2) years of professional experience working with program operations and policies for a public or private organization. Two (2) years of professional experience working with office procedures and programs. Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing elementary mathematics and grammar. Two (2) years of professional experience operating manual and automated office equipment. One (1) year of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff, and approving time off.
