Position Overview:
As a Mechatronics New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer within our Development & Engineering team, you will thrive in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. Leveraging your technical expertise and interpersonal skills, you will collaborate closely with our suppliers to drive the industrialization of mechanical components and parts manufacturing processes. Your primary goal will be to ensure the exceptional quality of parts delivered by our suppliers, thereby contributing to the success of our cutting-edge projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Foster early supplier involvement in projects to merge technological expertise effectively.
Ensure coverage of part quality, manufacturability, and serviceability aspects during the design phase.
Document project collaboration and responsibilities via Statement of Work (SoW).
Support new product introduction (NPI) and facilitate early supplier selection and engagement.
Deliver quality assurance measures throughout the product generation process, including acceptance of designs, qualification processes, and first article inspections.
Manage supplier interface processes such as issue resolution, qualification deviation, and configuration management.
Contribute to supplier development initiatives to enhance operational excellence and participate in supplier audits.
Collaborate effectively within cross-sector teams, including project leaders, design engineers, and logistics professionals.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a technical or manufacturing role.
Proficiency in quality systems and methodologies, such as Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
Hands-on experience in manufacturing techniques and processes, including precision mechanics and electro-mechanics.
Track record of driving technical improvement projects and cost-reduction initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Skills:

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Results-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

Additional Information:
This position is based in Wilton, CT, with onsite attendance required for work-related events and meetings.
Flexible workplace arrangements may be available.
Candidates must be legally authorized to access controlled technology.
Some responsibilities may involve work in cleanroom and lab environments.
