We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, a commitment to fostering students' musical abilities and appreciation and the ability to create engaging and enriching learning experiences. About the Music Teacher position Music classes are Wednesdays and Fridays 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, Hourly pay begins at $40 per hour ($60 per day) Journey follows the CCSD 9-month school calendar. Position begins August 14, 2024. Mandatory training August 6, 2024 Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver music instruction for students in kindergarten through 8 th grade. Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, and music theory. Provide vocal and instrumental training using age-appropriate instruments and repertoire. Introduce students to a diverse range of musical genres, styles, and cultures through listening activities and performances. Organize and coordinate two school-wide musical performances in the fall and spring. Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment and conducive to musical exploration and expression. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote respectful behaviors and active participation. Provide a positive educational atmosphere with effective management guidelines. Maintain records of students' progress and assign grades for participation and behavior. Job Requirements: Minimum one year of experience teaching children music. Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of musical instruments. Strong knowledge of music theory and history. Choral or choir music background. Professional in appearance and work performance. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents. Ability to manage students in a positive, controlled manner. Resume with two professional references and complete application.
