Summary:
Assemble and test mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in a manufacturing organization. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety (QEH&S) policy and strategic direction of the organization. Perform sub and final assemblies with minimal supervision Work either in a production cell or with small parts by inspecting and sorting Perform to written job instructions or engineering drawing/work order Work to achieve general knowledge of operation/function of assemblies as required to troubleshoot units Learn operational or departmental equipment, tooling or gauging as required Identify process changes and methods improvements Maintain current instrumentation calibration Perform quality checks in accordance with established quality procedures and ISO requirements May be required to use forklift truck, hand trucks, carts, hoists and ladders. Perform all other duties as assigned. Use and maintain personal protective equipment required to safely perform the job Ensure production pace is maintained to meet customer demand Learn and review daily production goals and metrics as a team Maintain cleanliness (5S) of work area daily Participate in continuous improvement goals of the work site
Skills / Equipment: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to use various power (Pneumatic) hand tools (i.e.; power screwdriver, socket etc.) Ability to understand blueprints. Computer literate
Position Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 years' experience in assembly or other fast paced operations preferred. Good Attendance Production Quality Professional Attitude and Teamwork
WEIGHTS: May be required to lift from one to forty pounds.
