With 17 million annual tons of mine capacity of 40/70 & 100 mesh, we are the premier in-basin frac sand provider in the Permian, Eagle Ford, and Mid-Con regions.Position SummaryThe Mine Superintendent (Mine Engineer) is responsible for supervision of the mine area located at our plant production site. The Mine Superintendent (Mine Engineer) will report to the Plant Manager and direct activities for the mine in compliance with MSHA regulations. The successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with the operations team.Essential FunctionsOversees surface mining operations under Part 46 MSHA regulations Supervise employees and contractors working in mine area including direction for area where work is needed for the day, where equipment is needed, and productivity goalsEnsure execution of activities in accordance with Mine PlanMonitor for safety of equipment, safe operation of that equipment, and any other safety concernsReview equipment inspection reports and request service for equipment as neededMaintain communication with plant operations regarding activities within mine area and production area Maintain communication and reporting with contracted mining company as neededManage projects within mine area as neededDocument daily activity to include tonnage of material and equipment utilizationMaintain reporting of projected monthly demandCreate environmental reporting for the mine areaAssist with development of mid-range Mine PlansPerform other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Mine Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrefer knowledge or experience in surface mining, or short range mine planning, or geological modelling, or surveyingProficiency in Vulcan mining software or other mining software highly preferred Prefer computerized block modeling and/or mine planning software experience or knowledge Experience in short or mid-range surface mine planning.Experience or knowledge of mine planning, design, and layout.Exceptional communication, both written and oral, and interpersonal abilities; organization and attention to detailProficiency in the use of computers and various technology programs to maintain records and reports for the facility; heavy Microsoft Excel useAbility to work both tactically and strategicallyAbility to effectively manage personnel located in remote areas with hands-on, solution-driven approachStrong desire to be part of a start-up/high-growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit and fast-paced, results-oriented culture Job BenefitsBlack Mountain Sand offers a comprehensive and competitive compensation package for candidates when they join our team.
