Mine EngineerFLSA CLASSIFICATION:ExemptGRADE ASSIGNMENT:EX 06 - EX 09 ($63,950 - $129,408)JOB LOCATION:Mountain Coal Company - West Elk MineOVERALL JOB PURPOSE:Provide engineering support regarding design and technical assistance with all aspects of the underground mining operationsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Provide engineering technical support to the mine. This may include surface and underground utilities layout, ventilation, surface and underground surveying support, roof control, mine planning, underground and surface project management, and other aspects of mining engineeringMine site surface engineering projectsOversee adherence to permitting conditions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including subsidence surveys and mining noticesSubmittal of mine plans to State and Federal agencies Coordinate and work with survey crews as requiredMaintain mine mapping, including semi-annual and annual map submittalsMonth end production and royalty reporting Prepare budget model and determine advancing capital needs Economic evaluations of projectsPreparation and monitoring of short range mine plansInterface with mine site, corporate, and government regulatory personnelCost analysis of projectsPlan and carry out special projects as required by mine managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science Degree in mining engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent education/experienceUnderground mine engineering experience preferred; grade placement based on experienceProficiency in MS Office and AutoCADExcellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oralCritical thinking skills; ability to analyze for optimal outcomesAbility to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervisionCurrent Colorado Mine Forman's Certification or the ability to acquire such timelyCurrent MSHA instructor's certification or the ability to obtain within 2 yearsDemonstrated experience with Behavioral Based Safety programsPOSITION REPORTS TO:Manager of Engineering and Environmental AffairsBENEFITS: Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, AD&D, HSA and more, including Performance Recognition Program participationQualified internal applicants should send resume to Janell Masterson (******).
