Mechanical Technician A Job Description Position Summary The responsibility of Mechanical Technician A at Swift Recon is to repair damaged parts in accordance with Swift Recon specifications and manufacture standards.
Position Duties and Responsibilities Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems. Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as perform Document process and maintain mechanical service records as needed Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to industry regulations. Maintain and wear all required safety protective equipment. Tests drive vehicles, and tests components and systems, using equipment such as computerized diagnostic devices Notifies management of any additional repairs needed Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job form being performed or cause a change in the expected repair time May repair, reline, replace and adjust brake systems Repairs and /or replaces engine, engine components, steering, transmission. Differentials, transfer cases, suspension, HVAC systems, electrical systems, etc. Understands and complies with federal, state and location regulations that affect mechanical shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner Willing to learn and develop new techniques Performs other duties as required to successfully meet the needs and goals of the mechanical department and Swift Recon Update step in system to reflect outbound status. Educational Requirements? 15-20 years related experience with valid work history.??

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions?? The position is based in a normal shop environment. Daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts, carts, and cars with assistance. Working environment consists of: Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with elevated levels of noise. Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment.
