Our team is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of sensor and computer hardware for our autonomous vehicle. We are looking for someone enthusiastic, innovative, a self-starter, and excited to work as an exceptional Mechanical Sustaining Engineer for our optical sensor team. In this role, you will be asked to update and improve designs for mechanical components and assemblies for our sensor systems.In this role, you will:Take mechanical design ownership of existing optical sensor hardwareCreate new designs that address necessary improvements to sensor systemsDesign our new sensor fixturesManage existing and create new Bills of Materials and overall design configurations using CAD and PLM toolsCommunicate with external partners and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, and get design feedbackQualificationsExperience with electronics packaging designOptomechanical design experienceAt least 7 years of relevant industry experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCan work independently but isn't afraid to ask for help from othersBonus QualificationsHands-on fabrication experienceExperience with Quality Engineering principles and inspection processesCompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $162,000 to $232,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
