Job Summary Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for planning and execution on projects of limited complexity, coordination of project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones in accordance with established policies and procedures. This individual will bridge the technical gap between the Project Manager and the Engineers. Must ascertain that engineering work is done according to plan by assisting with design interpretation, and will review bill of materials, project schedules, and forecasts for accuracy. Will also supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders.
Job Description Translates contract requirements for project scope into client scope of services and deliverables. Ensures project schedules and resource plans are developed and utilized in managing the project tasks. Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on the project. Manages execution, coordination, and implementation of regular reviews/controls to track project progress. Develops action plans to address project tasks and issues. Applies basic knowledge and understanding of customer contract to the oversight and management of the project. Prepares standard project control requirements. Tracks cost and schedule and uses analytical skills to forecast trends. Promotes value creation and sustainable solution objectives for project. Understands customer's key drivers (KPIs). Establishes good working relationship with customer technical counterpart. Establishes relationships with external vendors and suppliers. Identifies potential technical risks and effectively develops risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans; follows client's risk management procedures. Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team. Proactively addresses technical coordination issues. Ensures approved systems, processes & tools are deployed and complied with on project. Ensures design team is aware of and complying with customer Basis of Design and applicable codes and regulations. Keeps all stakeholders informed of project technical status. Skills Required Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated understanding of cost, schedule and estimating principles. Ability to prioritize workload for self and others. Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to multi-task. Ability to troubleshoot issues and assist others. Ability to develop a relationship of trust and respect by discussing project progress, challenges and issues in a transparent manner. Specific experience includes compression stations, pump stations, and meter stations for both crude oil and natural gas. Additional experience includes expertise in piping design, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, specification development, procurement, execution management, and construction management in the areas of pipeline and station design. 7 plus years technical, supervisory and/or management experience Professional registration in local jurisdiction Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required.
