The Materials Manager is the primary point of coordination and interface within the supply chain and overall operations organizations. Responsible for providing comprehensive supply chain leadership with primary focus on material cost management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and plant forecasting duties. This key function will work with the plant manager in the development of strategic plans and supporting objectives, while proactively managing supporting events to assure attainment of agreed upon performance. This function participates in the establishment and deployment of standard processes, policies & procedures, taking the necessary steps to ensure compliance. This position will lead to improvements in primary working capital performance, product, raw material and freight costs, all while maintaining or increasing quality and delivery. This position leads the effort to achieve and maintain alignment in the value chain between the suppliers, and the end customer in all form, fit, function, price and delivery requirements. Responsibilities Responsible for implementing, managing and improving all process related to the materials department including procurement, material handling, scheduling, inventory management, receiving, shipping, production scheduling, forecasting, demand management, etc.
Responsible for setting operations performance expectations and capacity review metrics in conjunction with the manufacturing team to improve service levels. Implements production scheduling processes and drives adherence to plan.
Develops, coordinates, and executes strategic sourcing initiatives under agreed-upon time frames to improve the supply chain including supplier performance and supplier development.
Primary person to establish monthly revenue, inventory and capacity requirement forecasts and owner for distribution warehouses performance which includes managing SKU's, proper SKU levels, OTD to Customer and Availability to Ship metrics.
Implements and improves planning parameters to drive material flow, reduce set-up occurrences and run efficient work order sizes.
Coordinates with Sourcing and Quality teams to ensure efficiency of the Supply Chain to achieve delivery and quality metrics.
Responsible for leading Physical Inventory counts and cycle count efforts.

Qualifications Experience and Skill Required BA or BS degree required in a technical competency, minimum in a business/industrial related field
3-5 years in the area of direct material, experience in strategy development
Proven ability to build and develop teams
Financially literate, especially in P&L and cash-flow modeling, scenario building, and comparative analysis
Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze, and solve complex problems
Strong written communication and excellent oral presentation skills, and the ability to present convincingly at senior levels
Highly committed team player, flexible, and able to work to tight deadlines
5+ years of team leadership / supervisory experience
SAP experience
APICS, CPIM, CPM, ISM or ASQ Supply Chain Certification
Six Sigma or LEAN certification (preferred)
