Position summary: The Material Handler works where needed, moving and storing materials, pulling and prepping customer orders for delivery in the warehouse, as well as loading/unloading all incoming/outgoing trucks. Once, orders are prepped, loaded, and inventory is stored properly; there are duties working in the production line as well. This role requires dependability, attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
HOURS OF OPERATION: 1st Shift
Essential Duties and responsibilities: Load and unload product safely using forklift and pallet jacks. Work on production line when orders are completed Verify accuracy of orders loaded. Pick glass orders utilizing packing lists and receipts. Responsible for inventory control and quality control within work area. Scan in and label incoming stock and put away in the appropriate location. Empty 4,000 pound dumpsters with crane/forklift throughout the day for warehouse stations Responsible for maintaining and clean and safe work area. Cross-train to perform job duties of other work stations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma or equivalent - Required Valid Driver's License - Required 1 year of manufacturing/production experience - Preferred Forklift Experience - Required Machine Operating experience - Preferred Experience with hand and power tools - Preferred Attention to detail and time management skills - Required Ability to meet attendance requirements including overtime as needed - Required Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication) - Required Ability to work independently or within a team - Required Ability to perform repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment - Required Basic computer skills - Preferred Mechanical aptitude - Preferred Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constantly required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Frequently required to reach above shoulders, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and crouch. Constantly required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. Frequently gripping, cupping and clamping hand and wrist motions are required to support, carry and maneuver objects to platform heights of three feet in a manner considered safe for self and others. Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds Constantly handling heavy materials Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
