JOB SUMMARY: The Marketing Intern we're looking for is the most legit of all interns. You could market toenail clippers to a fish … or at least fail at it valiantly. You'll work on a wide array of marketing projects for Michigan First Credit Union, as well as our sister companies Michigan First Mortgage and Michigan First Insurance Agency and kick butt doing it. In return, we hope you gain a lot of valuable experience and some cool portfolio pieces in a mutually beneficial, "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" work scenario (minus literal scratching because that's weird).
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Compile and categorize credit union blogs Research and draft new blogs Research new guest blog opportunities and assist in outreach Respond to Michigan First Mobile app reviews in the Apple and Android app stores Edit emails and upload email lists (creating emails themselves if able) Make minor website text and SEO edits Assist with the creation, implementation and analytic gathering of social media ads and campaigns. Brainstorm and produce organic social media content Assists with newsletter, brochure and poster writing and proofing Holiday closed posters – updates, prints, sends to all branches Pricing research/ordering of collateral items – pens, giveaways, t-shirts, etc. Car sales – assists with survey results and stats compilation Assist with creative design process and copywriting Work our booth at select back-to-school and other community events Research fall events at colleges/universities for back-to-school events QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills Excellent computer skills, including all Microsoft Office products. Adobe Creative Suite is a plus as well as knowledge of or willingness to learn social media platforms/tools, Google Analytics/AdWords. Ability to maintain confidentiality. multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment Diligent work ethic Willingness and ability to share ideas openly in a team environment Available on evenings and weekend days to attend events on occasion You are a go-getter and aren't afraid to take control of a project and run with it. You enjoy finding new and better ways of doing things. You are a good person - you have exceptional business ethics and it shows in your work and decision-making. You're a chameleon, meaning you're willing to adapt to a changing environment and share responsibility in things outside the norm. That could mean working on both digital and non-digital marketing projects and administrative work, but would not include cleaning the toilet.
