Nelson Mullins, an Am Law 100 law firm, is looking for an experienced Events Coordinator to join its dynamic Marketing team in Columbia, South Carolina.

This position plays a pivotal role in planning and executing a diverse range of events. The Events Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and planning logistics for national and local events as well as serving as the Firm's primary resource for event sponsorships, including local and state bar associations. Working closely with the Marketing Operations Manager, the Events Coordinator will focus on sponsorship level selection along with key partners, venue selection, menu planning, transportation arrangements, audio/visual equipment set-ups, and staffing events while ensuring protocol is followed. There will also be the opportunity to coordinate with the Firm's communications staff for deliverables such as logos and advertising. Additionally, the Events Coordinator will oversee the Firm's alumni program, including annual events, producing quarterly newsletters, managing the data base and posting on the website and LinkedIn pages. The Events Coordinator will oversee administrative coverage of various marketing department activities as well. While serving as marketing lead for events, duties include assisting as a travel liaison for major internal events.
You are comfortable conferring with staff at in-house events or staff at chosen out-side event sites to coordinate details and handling all aspects of the event such as designing and producing Vuture invitations, connecting with the technology team to use the CRM, and providing website approved write up. You are a pro at selecting and inspecting event areas (or facilities) to ensure that they conform with the Firm's requirements, and you thrive at coordinating event services including accommodations, transportation, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs, printing, and security. A natural collaborator, you are comfortable working the Marketing Operations Manager to define objectives and needs for meetings, conferences, and special events. You are detail-oriented and have no problem reviewing event bills for accuracy so that they can be submitted and approved for payment in a timely manner. You understand the importance of conducting post-event evaluations as well as establishing and maintaining ongoing vendor relationships to ensure quality support, competitiveness and responsiveness.
You have a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of meaningful experience in the event coordination space.
