Overview

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking to hire a full-time Pediatric Psychologist who will provide outpatient behavioral health services, including assessment, consultation, and intervention for children, adolescents, and families referred to the interdisciplinary Feeding Development Clinic. Clients (ages birth-21) will present with comorbid medical, developmental and behavioral health concerns. Common referrals include extreme Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, food selectivity/rigidity, weight loss, failure to gain weight, and behavioral difficulties related to mealtimes. The team consists of psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, registered dietitians, a developmental behavioral pediatrician and a case manager. Opportunities exist to build new collaborative relationships with medical clinics at CHLA. The psychologist will be responsible for providing the following: individual, family and group therapy using evidence-based psychological interventions; case management services; school advocacy; home/school visits as clinically indicated; and coordination of care with medical teams at CHLA related to specific clients on the psychologist's caseload. Completes psychological/developmental assessments as needed. Provides assessment as part of the interdisciplinary feeding team and conducts behavioral observations as part of this assessment in order to identify strengths and challenges related to feeding development. Future opportunities also exist for supervision in our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs. Teaching duties may include didactic presentations; community presentations; and participation in staff/supervisor meetings. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Supervised professional experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population is required. Previous consultation and liaison experience within a medical setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the various psychosocial aspects of commonly referred medical conditions is strongly preferred. Experience supervising trainees is preferred. Training in Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP) is strongly preferred. Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred. Prefer bilingual competence (Spanish/English).

Education/Licensure/Certification:
Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program.
License in psychology in California.
BLS Certification required.

Pay Scale Information

USD $76,128.00 - USD $137,030.40

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
