University of Florida HillelMarketing and Communication AssociateOverview of RoleAs the Marketing and Communication Associate at UF Hillel you will help lead a marketing strategy for one of the largest campus based Israel travel programs in the country. You will lead by example through your hard work and dedication including being hands on, organized, a self-starter and someone who finds satisfaction from coaching others. You'll have to be a good planner, communicator, coordinator, and most importantly, a great team player.As our UFtoIsrael brand ambassador and IACT cohort representative, you will lead a team effort to recruit students for Israel travel experiences, including Birthright Israel and Onward Israel, by building one-on-one relationships with them, staffing trips to Israel, and strengthening relationships upon students' return to campus. Your work will have a measurable impact on our brand, vision, and the community.What You'll DoDevelop and implement year round marketing and communications strategy around Israel travelManage a team of Israel Travel Ambassadors to help you execute your marketing and recruitment strategy for Israel travel. Primary staff for Birthright Israel trips each season; recruit, coordinate and train remaining Birthright Israel trip staff members from the UF communityOpportunity to staff Onward Israel 8-week summer program; continue building relationships with students throughout the summer, ensuring a positive and meaningful Israel experienceDevelop relationships with students from key campus demographics to support Israel engagement at UFIn collaboration with students and colleagues, develop ongoing engagement opportunities for interested program participates and alumniBuild relationships with a broad range of students through meaningful conversations, connecting them with Jewish life on campus and relevant opportunities Utilize data and partner with students and Hillel professionals to ensure a strategic approach to building Jewish life and community on campus Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the Chief Experience Officer, as well as weekly staff meetings, and frequent team check-ins and strategy sessionsA Typical Day May Look LikeFacilitating a meeting with Israel Travel ambassadors reviewing strategy and reaching out to prospective participantsWork with students to create and implement a social media strategy for Israel travelCoffee with a student interested in getting involved in an Israel travel experience, identifying their interests and following up with a connection to a student leader or further informationSpend time on campus with a few Israel Travel ambassadors, recruiting in public spaces Meeting with colleagues to discuss Onward Israel and Birthright Israel recruitment and follow-up strategyDedicated time to note your interactions in the database and send follow-up or check-in emails to studentsSupporting a student event in the evening where you meet two students who have not yet been on Birthright Israel and invite them to have coffee next weekWhat You'll Bring to the Job1-3 years of professional work experience and a bachelor's degreeComfort around social media marketingConfidence initiating and running programsCreative problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate across teams of students and colleagues An excitement and willingness to not slow down until you have reached your recruitment goalA passion for Israel that is contagious, and an enthusiasm to continue developing your own relationship to Judaism and IsraelPrevious experience traveling in IsraelUnderstanding that students will connect with Israel in a variety of different waysWhat You'll ReceiveCompetitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace, $44,000 in year one.A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, Life, AD&D and Long Term Disability (LTD) insurances, Flexible Spending accounts, generous vacation/sick time, and parental leaveHigh-level professional development, mentoring, and skill building opportunitiesA network of terrific colleagues from across the Hillel movementTravel regionally and abroad, particularly to Israel*Please note, candidates who apply to this job will also be considered for the IACT Engagement Associate Role at University of Florida Hillel and vice versa. About University of Florida HillelWith one of the largest Jewish student populations in the country, the opportunities for Jewish life at UF are nearly limitless and UF Hillel strives to operate on a scale capable of meeting this challenge.
