The City of Newark is recruiting a candidate for a laborer in our Public Works and Water 
Resources Department. The position is responsible for the performance of a variety of physical 
tasks including the construction, maintenance, or repair of public infrastructure, and delivery of 
public services. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (GED), possess a valid driver's 
license, and a good driving and work record. Must currently hold or be able to obtain a 
commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B within six (6) months after date of hire. Must be able to 
understand and follow instructions, present a positive image, and effectively communicate with 
the public. Related experience is preferred. Starting hourly rate is $19.68 plus excellent fringe
