Midland Engine; Machinist Reports to General Manager
Perform or assist in a variety of tasks to work related to machining and rebuilding of engines and equipment, i.e. boring/turning/grinding/fabrication
Essential Job Functions;
Measuring and inspecting parts and components Inspect and machine parts and assemblies according to specification. Read, understand and apply plans and specifications Operator machine and perform machine operating in a safe manner and in accordance with manufactures guidelines. Clean work area, machines, and equipment. Maintain and repair equipment as needed. Work on many difference phases or areas of a project work with several tools such as hand tools, saws, punch press, etc. Worth within standard of accuracy Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure Evaluate information using measureable standards NOTE: The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience. Educational and Experience requirement include High School Diploma or Technical & Business training and experience. Basic Arithmetic (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages) are essential. Organizational, Leadership communication and analytical skill are required.
Description; Employee must be able to climb the following; ladders and stairs. Lifting; The Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Carrying; The employee must be able to carry up to 50lbs frequently. Range of Motion; Full Range of motion required for high degree of bending and twisting Balance; Excellent balance secondary to having to work around machinery and parts on the floor Vision; Normal Visual Acuity, Depth perception, color discrimination, for working around hazardous materials areas and working/balancing heights. Hearing; Sufficient Hearing to hear warning signals and co-workers warning of high risk of objects falling and shop warning signs. Environmental Considerations; Able to work at various Heights, the employee will be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather. Physical Requirement; Occasionally
