Lumber Yard Supervisor
Location: Tennessee
Salary: 45-65K+, benefits, relocation, etc.
Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
Supervise dryline operations (Lumber Inspection, Breakdown, Tilt Hoist, Painting & Banding) which includes enforcement of all safety policies, scheduling and production of material and employee development and training.
Dryline Operations
Maintain a safe environment at all times, ensuring that employees adhere to all safety rules and policies.
Ensure quality control standards are continuously met.
Oversee yard production activities (lumber grading/inspecting, breakdown and tracking daily production levels to meet production goals
Focus on continuous improvements in all yard activities.
Monitor overall packaging for appearance.
Monitor air-drying yard for 4x4 alignment, surface checking and lot rotation.
Improve housekeeping throughout the yard.
Human Resource Development
Coordinate with HR to hire, supervise, schedule and evaluate all direct reports.
Update job descriptions and conduct annual performance reviews on direct reports.
Encourage participation in training and development opportunities.
Administer human resources policies and procedures.
Maintenance
Work with maintenance department to schedule maintenance priorities.
Ensure all maintenance expenses and labor are allocated to proper account.
Safety
Ensure that safety is the #1 priority
Enforce safety rules at all times
Provide training for all new hires, and ongoing training when employees are moved to a new position.
