Job Purpose

The Logistics Manager will play a pivotal role in helping to define our Shipping & Receiving strategy as part of the business unit's Operations team. The top candidate will be responsible for owning strategic direction, will ensure successful execution against business objectives and KPIs, and will lead the Shipping & Receiving team with a mindset of continuous improvement and collaboration. This individual will also possess a blend of people management excellence, strategic reasoning, and a track record of outperformance against deliverables.

Job Responsibilities

Higher-level management, responsible for broad strategic planning, budgeting, KPI ownership, and process improvement initiatives within the Shipping & Receiving area.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize Shipping & Receiving processes and improve business outcomes by driving solutions tied to enhanced performance as defined by relevant metrics or KPIs
Effectively trains and mentors the Shipping & Receiving department by providing leadership and people management with a specific emphasis on employee coaching and development,
Fosters a culture that is marked by mutual accountability, a pursuit of excellence within the department, and a continuous improvement mindset
Manages departmental budget, including forecasting and expense and cost analysis to optimize spending and maximize profitability
Evaluates and optimizes shipping and receiving processes, systems, and technologies to deliver on business results and financial commitments
Develops strategy around Shipping/Receiving department standard work
Analyzes KPIs and metrics related to shipping and receiving operations, such as on-time delivery rates, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement and drive efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders including commercial, procurement, manufacturing, and business unit leadership to proactively resolve issues and ensure alignment of shipping and receiving activities with overall business objectives
Stay informed with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to shipping, receiving, and logistics. Proactively identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies and methodologies to enhance performance.

Serve as a change agent, willing to challenge the status quo while also leading with respect and seeking to secure buy-in from relevant parties as part of the change-management process

Requirements & Qualifications

7+ years of relevant experience in a Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse, or Logistics role demonstrating a progressive level of responsibility
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
Demonstrated track-record of relevant successes, specifically in developing Shipping & Receiving strategies and implementing effective change management
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and other relevant technology tools.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to warehouse operations including DOT, IATA, IMDG certifications
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and operational requirements.
