Serve as a subject matter expert on DoD supply chain management policy and logistics strategy related to all classes of supply, with particular focus on DoD integrated materiel management, non-consumable and consumable items, provisioning, cataloging, technical data, shelf-life management, and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Subsistence, Medical, and Construction and Barrier Materiel.
Analyze and assess the effects and impacts of existing and proposed legislation on DoD policy as it relates to these subject areas. Provide interface support between the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics (ODASD(Log)) and the military services, defense agencies, and other government organizations for policy development and ad hoc requirements. Provide program management support, including support for engagements with the Government Accountability Office and DoD Inspector General, and serve as the subject matter expert for DoD policies and procedures. Perform policy research and collaborate with DoD Components and other government organizations to support supply chain enhancement efforts. Analyze and assess DoD logistics and supply chain policies, coordinate with other organizations on potential improvements, and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements. Communicate with clients through briefings, written reports, and oral presentations. Research subject matter and prepare point papers/notes/remarks for use by senior DoD officials for engagement with internal and external organizations. Produce charts and other presentation materials. Required: Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline 3+ plus years' experience in DoD logistics Good quantitative and analytical skills Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Superior communication skills, both oral and written High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level. You must be a US citizen.
