Whether you will spend your day in an office cubicle, operating a crane or running the melt shop at one of our mills, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoMonitor shop performance and processes daily for operation within established parametersDetermine causes for deviation and recommend correctionsProvide reporting daily, weekly, and monthly to document shop performance against established key performance indicatorsInvestigate and recommend process, procedure, training or equipment needs to continually improve performanceIssue work orders to plant maintenance derived from process and equipment inspectionsWork with plant superintendent to optimize personnel and process execution for consistent performance and continuous process improvement.Work with Training Department to develop and assist teaching operator development and safety classes.Assist in training new shop personnel in production environmentInteract with company personnel resources external to plant about process performance and improvementInitiate communication with resources external to company (suppliers and contractors) for consistency and improvement initiativesWhat You'll NeedWide ranging communication skills both verbal and written to influence operators, supervisor and internal & external support staffHighly technical, detail oriented, organized and self-starterWillingness and ability to work hands-on in the shop with operators on flexible schedulesYour EducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate degree or equivalent experience preferredThere's more to CMC than our steel products and the buildings, structures, and roads they go into.
