Position Summary: We're hiring a Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, and a Shareholder/Partner. You'll be managing correspondence, handling communication with clients, and coordinating various legal tasks. Perform transcription of legal dictations and manage electronic filing (e-filing) of legal documents, ensuring timely submission to relevant state and federal courts and authorities.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance with court requirements. Maintain and manage attorney calendars, scheduling client meetings, court appearances, and deadlines. Ensure all appointments and obligations are tracked and met. Locate, gather, and organize case-relevant information and documentation. Assist in the development and preparation of case files for attorney review. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and facilitating communication between clients and attorneys to ensure seamless case progression. Qualifications: 3+ years experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant or Secretary. Strong familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and protocols. Demonstrated experience with e-filing systems and processes. Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills to articulate complex legal arguments. Competency in using legal software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other relevant tools for legal document preparation and case management. Nice to Have Skills: Experience in an insurance defense or civil litigation law firm. Prior experience with discovery and executive support.
