Role Summary:

The Training Development Specialist is responsible for delivering amazing and innovative training programs for Compass at Google. This position assists in the creation and implementation of training tools for the Bay Area campus.

The Training Development Specialist will focus on bringing the Google Food program to life through articulate, engaging and fun learning and development sessions, which will support operational excellence. This position reports into the Senior Talent Learning and Development Partner and will leverage their strong training skills, food and operational knowledge to partner with key stakeholders (culinary, nutrition, marketing, behavioral science, concept development, procurement, risk management, operations and people approach) to upskill company standards, Food expectations and enhance user (partner) experience.

The great things you will be expected to do:

Talent Development

Coordinate onboarding, ensuring a great welcome and start with all new team members.
Deliver great training that engages and supports our talent to develop great careers within the team.
Ensure we leverage the great in-house learning and development ("L&D") programs of Compass Group.
Support the assessment of training needs to ensure Core Program Expectations ("CPE") are met, developing L&D materials as required.
Support with learning initiatives that enable the organization to retain competent, capable and committed staff at all levels in the organization.
Train, coach and mentor managers, supervisors and employees on developing great career pathways.
Deliver amazing trainings!
Support our teams in exceeding expectations and bring the Food program to life
Set high expectations of hospitality that is friendly and engaging
Delivers engaging & energizing orientation sessions
Supervises technical training for staff
Creates testing and evaluation processes
Provides classroom and on-the-job training
Works with the Talent Development Manager to ensure all sector and Compass employee guidelines are implemented and adhered to
Promotes a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
Treats everyone with professionalism, care and respect

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
Has a minimum of 4 years food service operation supervision experience, including restaurant opening experience
Has a minimum of 2 years training experience
Experience with and understanding of Food Safety and Workplace Safety programs
Ability to build strong cross functional relationships
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to speak and present effectively in a group setting to Associates, Managers and our partner and represent the Food Brand
Strong passion for great food and hospitality
General culinary knowledge of basic kitchen practices, protocols and procedures
Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines
Ability to follow all Health & Safety standards
Demonstrates good judgment and decision making skills
Maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team
Working knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
