In this position you will lead and manage a team of UI Artists (1-4) working on major initiatives of Fortnite (E.g., Gameplay UI, the Battlepass, or Social Systems). You will use your experience of generating and implementing pixel perfect UI Art and guide your team to produce well thought out features and systems. You and your team will be responsible for generating high fidelity mockups, prototypes, design systems and implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine 5. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ship these features to millions of players around the world.In this role, you willLead UI Art on a product team and inspire, mentor, and manage a team of UI Artists (1-4)Be accountable for the quality and consistency of UI Art produced on the product teamWork collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design, and Code to create AAA quality UI experiencesActively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, HUD elements, Iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation, and motion designContribute to shipping product team features on time and to qualityFlag new and emerging design patterns or systems from the product team to UI Art DirectorsCollaborate with the greater UXUI Department to ensure consistency and quality is maintained across Fortnite as a productWhat we're looking for7+ years of experience designing, implementing in-game UI, working in agile environments, and on multi-disciplinary teams2-4 years of experience managing a team of 1-4 people or equivalent trainingYou are skilled with Figma, Adobe Suite, or other comparable design softwareYou have experience implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine or other comparable game enginesExperience with building shaders and materials in Unreal Engine or comparable game enginesPortfolio demonstrating a keen eye for Motion Design and animationExperience in creating 3d game assets in software packages like 3ds Max and/or MayaEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEOur intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
