Job Description SummaryThe Lead Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) Development Lab Engineer provides direction and assistance to the work group to achieve program milestones and meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work both independently and with various teams to develop CMC components for aircraft engines and other aerospace applications.Job DescriptionA successful Development Lab Engineer will operate both independently and as part of a team to complete activities such as tool design, layup planning, and part analysis to achieve desired project outcomes and support both current and future applications of CMCs. Success in this position requires defining the manufacturing process steps and boundaries to ensure producibility while meeting customer requirements and part form, fit, and function.Key responsibilities include:Lead efforts to produce novel manufacturing designs and enable successful CMC preform manufacturing in a low-rate production and lab environmentLead and participate on cross-functional teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives; work collaboratively with design, materials, and supply chain partnersPrepare technical planning to manufacture CMC preforms in a low-rate production and lab environmentPrepare and present technical data to internal and external customersShare engineering information and promote open dialogueAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresQualifications/requirements:B.S. degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy from an accredited university or college or B.S. degree in another Engineering discipline from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 3 years of experience in composites manufacturing.Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role / positionDesired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and lead projectsEffective team building and project management skills#EMS#LI-JR1This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
