As a

laser welding engineer , you're responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing laser welding processes for our customer primarily in the automotive and EV industries. Your role involves analyzing materials, fine-tuning parameters, and collaborating with our teams to ensure precise and efficient welding. You're at the forefront of innovation, driving advancements in laser technology to meet strict industry standards and deliver high-quality results.

Your role

Lead Laserax's teams of technicians and engineers towards best practices in laser welding;
Validate, enhance, and optimize established procedures for the development of laser welding recipes;
Propose work methods and equipment suited to the Laserax work environment;
Participate in team meetings to find solutions to laser welding-related issues;
Assess the properties of materials to be welded and determine the most suitable laser parameters and techniques for achieving strong and reliable welds
Fine-tune laser parameters such as power, speed, and focus to optimize weld quality and meet specific project requirements.
Collaborate with various industry experts and laser source suppliers to define the right solution for Laserax's clients' needs;
Act as a laser welding expert in support of the sales and marketing team;
Attend international fairs and conferences as a laser welding expert to support the sales and marketing team.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in engineering (physical engineering or metallurgical engineering)
5 to 10 years of practical experience specifically in laser welding processes and technology.
Ability to analyze and interpret data from welding characterization methods.
In-depth knowledge of laser welding characterization methods
Comprehensive knowledge of industrial laser welding technologies, including different types of lasers, beam delivery systems, and automation
The ability to think critically and creatively to overcome challenges and optimize welding outcomes.
Advanced degrees such as Master's or PhD in laser welding or related fields ( an asset)
