Flexible Schedules Available The Inventory Specialist Technician will excel at performing all the responsibilities and tasks of a pharmacy technician. Additionally, the Inventory Specialist Technician is responsible for maintaining a consistent approach to the pharmacy inventory management in conjunction with the pharmacy manager. Responsibilities include:
Prepare inventories, order drugs and supplies, receive drugs and stock shelves. Receive, store, and inventory pharmaceutical supplies or medications, check for expired medications, and evaluate inventory levels for optimal efficiency. Unpack, sort, count, and label incoming medications from suppliers, including items requiring special handling or refrigeration. Manage prescriptions in the "waiting bin" inventory. Perform returns of pharmaceutical products based on suggested returns, identified items for returns, and periodic counts. Ensure pharmacy inventory levels are routinely counted to verify balance on hand is accurate in pharmacy management system. This may include developing a shared responsibility chart to include other pharmacy team members. Ensure pharmacy counts are accurate prior to end of year inventory assessment that occurs March 31st annually. Provides training on inventory related tasks to other pharmacy team members. High School Diploma or equivalent. National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician – PTCB preferred. Valid state pharmacy technician registration. Previous experience managing and supervising employees preferred. Bilingual preferred, but not required. If bilingual, provides language support services, as requested, based on patient and pharmacy needs. Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology.
