At LCRA, we are searching for a highly motivated and dedicated instrumentation specialist interested in working in the field of Hydrology and Water Management! This position is located at LCRA's General Office Complex in Austin, TX and is a important part of LCRA's River Operations team. As part of our critical mission to manage floods and water supply, the successful candidate will apply creativity and their knowledge of field electronics, radio telemetry, and data collection to solve real-world problems and keep mission-critical hydrologic and meteorological data flowing to decision makers.Candidates should reside within 30 minutes of LCRA's General Office Complex in west Austin and be available for work during occasional nights, weekends and holidays. If you would like to be part of LCRA's critical mission to manage water supply and manage floods on the Highland Lakes and the Colorado River, we would be excited to hear from you!You will be trusted to:- Monitor proper operation of equipment and systems within assigned area of responsibility.- Identify potential and actual problems and determines of appropriate corrective actions to be taken.- Document work into logs, files, system prints and other records and through communications, both oral and written, withother team members and supervisors.- Operate handheld testing, calibration, installation and maintenance tools and equipment.- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, watersystems, etc.) as scheduled.You qualify with:- Six or more years' experience in installation, maintenance and/or repair of instrumentation, control equipment or monitoring equipment or relevant experience.- Degree in electronics, instrumentation, SCADA, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.- Driver's license required if traveling to work at various locations.You are a great fit with:- Knowledge of remote data collection and telemetry methods- Knowledge of Analog, SDI-12, MODBUS data protocolYou gain:- Competitive salary & medical, dental, vision and legal insurance- Paid time off, including time for vacation, sick and family care leave- 401(k) match up to 8% that includes a student loan 401(k) contribution program option- Life and disability insurance- Wellness program including wellness incentive- Extensive learning & development programsAnd more - all to create a compelling and rewarding work environment.Equal Opportunity EmployerLCRA provides equal employment opportunities and a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
