Infant Lead Teacher, Rayitos de Sol Childcare Purpose: Manage day-to-day logistics and operations for the classroom to run smoothly and effectively and sustain positive learning environment  Plan and implement age appropriate bilingual educational curriculum activities for preschool age children that incorporate children's language and culture Promote children's love of language, culture, learning, and playing alongside each other to prepare for success in school making a safe, caring and respectful environment where children are able to express themselves.  Build relationships with children and families in order to make students and families feel welcome and supported by creating a welcoming atmosphere in line with Mano en Mano values Enhance/strengthen/support the child and family as a whole in their home and community.  Facilitate decision-making, establish clear communication & feedback processes, ensure that staff work collaboratively and support programing at the childcare center to support children's needs.  Outcomes: All children experience learning opportunities where they feel welcome, safe, supported, and connected to others. Families feel welcomed and celebrated in the space.  Families feel connected to their child's learning with regular communication  Bilingual Curriculum demonstrates and values diversity in language and cultures Staff enriches every child's experience with books, music, dance, songs, poems, games, celebrations, and cultural traditions from various perspectives, making learning fun and engaging.  Responsibilities: Relationships with Children and Families Provide instruction to children; supervising, nurturing, and caring for children, Re-directs children to appropriate play when behavior is inappropriate.  Organize activities, indoor and outdoor environments, and implement curricula that supports children language and cultural development Monitor children during outdoor/indoor activities and interact with the children to enhance their learning Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center's policies, via direct conversation, daily reports, and classroom monthly newsletter Observe and document the individual progress of each child through regular assessments using ASQ assessment on a yearly basis  Staff and administrative support  Work with director and other teachers to maintain communication with parents and contact parents in emergency situations Maintain student records in accordance with established licensing rules, enrollment procedures and guidelines. Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on childcare standards and procedures. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other career development and professional activities which will include a minimum of 30 hours of annual training. Serve as a model and leader for fellow staff Support interview, hire, and training new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements with support from director and other staff  Curriculum development Collaborate with other staff to develop & implement bilingual educational curriculum and enhance the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of each child Create a positive learning environment and activities that: Provide a flexible, yet routine schedule of activities, which recognizes and meets the needs and abilities of each child. Schedule provides for alternating periods of quiet/active play, fine/gross motor play, child/teacher initiated activities Provide positive guidance to help children navigate real-life situations; develop appropriate habits in eating, dressing, napping, and personal hygiene. Posts the daily schedule, lesson plans, activities and events for the month so that parents and other staff can view them, copies are given to parents to take home  Conducts smooth and unregimented transitions between activities, and is flexible enough to change planned or routine activities  Facility support Develop & execute a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the interactive areas cleaned, organized and safe and encourages children's growth and arranges the space mindful of children's ages and developmental needs and complies with laws and regulations.  Areas include bathroom and equipment/toys in the classroom as well as assuring that floors are not mopped or vacuumed while children are present. Extra disinfecting is done when illnesses/diseases have been present in the classroom/center  Evaluate and recommend materials, equipment, and supplies to director for purchases  Adhere to quality standards in accordance with state and local requirements and regulations. Recommend ideas that may lead to a QRIS star level increase.  Regularly review and make recommendation to director about parent handbook based on parent feedback  Implement community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.  CACFP Duties Complete all mandatory CACFP trainings Work together with Assistant teacher to complete CACFP daily duties such completing paperwork Prepare monthly CACFP claim for classroom attendance  Submit monthly CACFP claim to director  Important Deadlines/Timeline and Compliance Expectations: Maintain records required for licensing, subsidy reimbursement and USDA food program reimbursement. Yearly assessments for each child or more regularly as determined by the director  Meet with parents on a quarterly basis (4x a year per season)  Qualifications and Hiring Information: Values: Must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Mano en Mano's mission and vision. Ideal candidates for this position will demonstrate experience that reflects a commitment to equity and social justice, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience: Two to four years of relevant experience demonstrating a range of skills relevant to early childhood education, or work in childcare settings is preferred. Preference for applicants who demonstrate: experience working with bilingual students and an understanding of trauma-informed practices. Skills: Highly flexible and adaptable with the ability to work independently and in a team Language: Prefer staff who are bilingual in English and Spanish. Monolingual applicants are encouraged  Education: Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. Five or more years of equivalent work experience with 135 hours of child-related training may be considered. Preference for applicants with teacher certification. Physical Requirements: lifting boxes or children occasionally up to 50 pounds Pay Range: $17.75 per hour depending on language fluency Start/End Date: April 2024 Expected Hours (Full Time): 32-40 hours per week - Ability to work flexible hours including morning afternoons, and weekends, is necessary to provide services to children during periods of the seasons. Center hours 5:30am - 6pm.  Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance provided to the employee at no cost; 401(k) plan with matching contributions, over 5 weeks of paid time off per year.
