Import Specialist Location Atlanta, GA (Lakewood Heights-Southeastern area) : Location: 4380 International Parkway or other offices as needed Schedule: Monday-Friday -- 8am-5pm Core Focus: To provide exemplary import logistics support to all of our clients as well as ensuring all communications are responded to in a timely manner. Role ? Managing Import of goods, will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to International business, as well as coordinate with customs and carriers to ensure efficient transit of goods. ? Maintain relationships with Freight forwarders, customs brokers, and Importer of Record (IOR) service providers and connect with import related authorities. ? Import specialist will work closely with the sales and logistics teams to ensure that shipments arrive on time and at the right destination. ? Handle shipment booking review and approvals (via email) from forwarder/broker and communicate with the merchandising team regarding any changes/revisions to shipments and order delivery ? Import specialist to closely monitor/track all freight they are handling on a daily basis ? Prepare import documentation, including ISF, passing documents to broker (internal or external) invoices, and bills of lading. ? Coordinate all aspects of the process between our merchants, broker, vendors, and ocean carriers for all import purchases ? Manage the lifecycle of an international purchase order through the logistics process ensuring the required documentation, customs classification and duty are all in compliance with U.S. Customs, other government agency regulations, and the Company?s policies and procedures ? Audit carrier costs and performance. Audit, approve and send invoices to Accounts Payable for payment to ensure import freight invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner ? Maintain all import documentation for Free Trade and other special import programs ? Assist Manager, Import with special projects; as assigned Required Skills: ? High School Diploma or G.E.D. ? 1 ? 2 years of Customer Service experience ? Logistics and/or US Customs brokerage ISF Filing process (how many years) Preferred Skills: ? Strong working knowledge of CargoWise Software ? Demonstrated proficiency with applicable software Microsoft Outlook & Excel ? Knowledge of logistics terminology (vessel booking, LCL, etc.) ? Strong communication, analytical, and math skills ? Excellent organizational and time management skills ? Communication Proficiency ? Attention to detail
