All of our dedicated associates possess a strong continuing focus on safety, reliability and environmental compliance.Open the door to your future at AmSty!Overview:The I&E Technician will assist in the installation, troubleshooting, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and technology focused in the electrical and instrumentation space. This role work closely with the Work Activity Coordinator, I&E Planner, and Operations team implementing effective actions to ensure reliable operation of the electrical and instrumentation at the facility.Primary ResponsibilitiesWill work on instrument/electrical 24VDC, 120VAC-13.8kv .Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment.Support field electrical maintenance work and electrical isolation (Lock out Tag out: Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)) for lighting, air condition and motor maintenance.Performs high level maintenance and repairs (requiring de-energizing and entry and NFPA 70E certification) of Motor Control Centers and associated equipment such as switch gear, switch rack and buss inspection, motor protection equipment, and Uninterruptable Power Supplies, etc.Inspects, calibrates, and repairs end devices such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, loop tuning, etc.Maintains and repairs instrumentation, such as valve actuators, positioners.Works autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions, at remote field locations; available for callout.Participate actively in department/plant safety programs. Promote safety rules and regulations as well as environmental compliance.Performs and accurately documents regulatory required inspections.Brings bad actors or repeat problems to the Reliability team's attention.Will participate in RCIs as needed.Will be required to install, inspect, and test new electrical equipment 120-13.8kv Interpreting data and adhering to strict guidelines on documentation when recording data. Technicians must be familiar with all equipment in the plant. A sampling of these devices includes transmitters, switches, analyzers, PH & Conductivity probes, combustion detectors, programmable controllers, proximity devices, level control systems, control valves, equipment & personnel safety systems, paymeter systems, electrical distribution systems, transformers, single phase motors, three phase motors/motor drives & controls. Within each category are a variety of pneumatic & electronic devicesOversees contractors as needed, providing specialty services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control)Close Work Orders and document equipment relevant information in SAP.Support plant planned or unplanned outages during day or night shifts.Perform other duties as assigned or needed.Works outside, year-round under various weather conditions.Stands and walks for extended periods of time.Requires balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching and rapid work pace, etc.Must be willing and able to wear an air-purifying respirator and SCBA.Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.Must be willing and able to work at heights above 25 feet by climbing stairs and vertical ladders.Must be willing and able to work in tight enclosed, or confined spaces.Perform other duties as assigned or needed.Skills/ExperienceAbility to read and redline the following:o P&IDso Motor One lines.o Motor elementary drawingso Control schematics.o Loop drawings o Ladder logic diagrams.Ability to use and interpret results from the following tools:o Pressure gauge.o Manometerso Potentiometerso Pulse and signal generators.o Ammeters, voltmeters, and watt meterso Meggers Troubleshooting 480v-2.4kv motor starters, buckets, and control circuitsRacking in/out and troubleshooting 13.8kv circuit breakers.Working knowledge of 2.4kv protection relays is a plus (SEL, Static Trip, ACPro)Ability to troubleshoot control circuits including but not limited to: AutoStart, relays, timers, etc. on 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VACExperience with vibration systems and setting vibration probes.Experience calibration instrumentation including digital, analog, and pneumatic.Able to work in a team environment with Operators/Mechanics/ Engineering/Technical Support and other contracted crafts.Understand and implement basic logic controls, AND gate, OR gate, NOT gate, basic "voting" systems, etc. Fundamental knowledge of electrical principles such as, FLA, V=IR, Phase to Phase testing, Phase to ground testing DCS and PLC experience is a plusExperience with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) is a plus.Experience with Smart Positioners is a plus.SAP experience is a plus.Able to work in a team environment with Operators/Mechanics/ Engineering/Technical Support and other contracted crafts.Candidates should demonstrate the willingness to learn the following skills or work with the following analyzers:o O2 analyzers.o Combustible detectors.o BTU analyzers.o analyzing samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present. o using analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas and high-performance liquid chromatography, ion chromatography, ion chromatography, electrochromatography.Relocation is not available with this position.Americas Styrenics LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, veteran status or marital status.To all recruitment agencies:We are not responsible for any fee related to unsolicited resumes from 3rd party staffing and recruiting agencies (whether submitted through this website or sent directly to employees) unless a written agreement is in place between the agency and Amsty ("Company")andan authorized Company representative makes a written request to the agency to assist with this requisition.
