Barrick Gold Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hydrogeologist to join our team at the Grants Reclamation Project (GRP) closure site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful closure of a complex mining site while working for a global leader in the industry. About the Role: As the Hydrogeologist, you will play a critical role in the groundwater monitoring program at the GRP site. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting hydrogeologic data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing technical support to the closure manager and other team members. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of hydrogeology, environmental monitoring, and data management.
Responsibilities: Support the closure manager by performing advanced technical hydrogeologic analysis, making strategic operational and closure recommendations, and leading and mentoring technical staff. Ensure the collection, compilation, analysis, interpretation, and application of hydrogeologic data for effective and accurate communication with stakeholders and management. Oversee the preparation and timely submittal of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports related to hydrogeologic data in accordance with reporting requirements. Ensure the budgeting, forecasting, and communication of hydrogeologic work for all projects. Assist with water management strategies and data management. Ensure conformance with site-specific Nuclear Regulatory Commission License SUA-1471, New Mexico Environmental Department Permit DP-200 permit requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures. Assist other personnel in achieving site objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. A bachelor's degree in hydrogeology, geology, hydrology, or civil engineering (or something similar) is required. Five (5) to Ten (10) years of experience in groundwater remediation is preferred. Familiarity with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well field balancing is preferred. Knowledge of advanced principles and practices employed in hydrogeology and hydrology is preferred. Experience with environmental monitoring and compliance principles preferred. Ability to prepare technical communications and effectively communicate results to various levels of expertise required. Demonstrated ability to operate independently and in small multi-disciplinary teams required. Familiarity with hydrogeologic modeling techniques is preferred. Excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Office, EQuIS, GIS, or other data management/computer programs) are required.
