Position Summary The Human Resources Professional will provide human resources support and coordinates the human resources functions for faculty, academic staff, support staff, temporary, on-call, and student employees in the College of Human Medicine Dean's Office; initiates and creates positions in EBS; serves as primary staffing coordinator for faculty, academic and support staffing posting process in the Applicant Tracking System (PageUP) and serves on search committees; initiates EBS HR personnel actions such as appointments, reappointments, change of status, cost redistribution, pay changes, etc.; coordinates the annual reappointment process for all employment groups; use Business Intelligence (BI) to develop and generate queries and ad-hoc reports. This position is remote-friendly (hybrid). May require travel between East Lansing, MI, and Grand Rapids, MI.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a human resources area or business administration; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible and expansive work experience in a human resources area related to the field of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration Two to Three years of related human resources experience in an academic setting Knowledge and proficiency with university human resources and payroll processes Knowledge and understanding of MSU academic hiring processes for faculty, academic and support staff Experience performing HR and Payroll personnel actions Advanced skills and extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite Experience with HR/Payroll and Applicant Tracking systems Must be a self-starter with good decision-making skills and demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and materials.
