This position oversees and coordinates a range of HR functions to include collaborating with operations leadership, addressing team member relation issues, relationship development with all levels of team members, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations, and policies. Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, managers, and team members on matters related to team member relations and workplace issues.
Team Member Relations Provide guidance for team members on Human Resource policies, procedures and conflict resolutions. Provide guidance and support managers on matters related to performance management, disciplinary actions, workforce planning, leaves of absences, and team member growth and development. Strategic Guidance Partner with leaders to understand their business objectives and challenges, and guide them in HR strategies. Assist leaders in planning on department restructuring, new positions, job descriptions, and market data. Assist leaders in developing action plans and implementation of them with engagement surveys. Support organizational change initiatives by communicating changes effectively, addressing team member concerns, and facilitating transition processes. Utilize HR data and metrics to analyze program effectiveness, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement. HRIS Systems Input, file, upload and process any changes in HRIS system for team members. Input, file, update, and upload and process any team member information required in all other system to include, Leave of Absence system, unemployment system, references, employee engagement, and all other IT system. Perform necessary administrative functions such as completing forms, reports, and processes. Compliance Ensure adherence to labor laws, and regulations, staying abreast of changes and developments. Conduct audits and assessments and implement corrective measures. Point of contact and HR Representation for State of Michigan and CMS audits. Relationship Building Cultivate strong partnerships with leaders, management teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Be a calm and compassionate partner when dealing with stressful/emotional situations with leaders, managers, team members, residents and families. Compensation Assist, research, and create salary studies. Collaborate with talent acquisition partners and managers for competitive and equitable compensation. Training and Development Assists, identify, develop, and deliver training programs to all levels of team members. Stay informed of employment laws and regulations and advising stakeholders accordingly. What it takes Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification preferred. Progressive experience in Human Resource roles with a focus on business partnership and HR initiatives. Experience with labor relations environment, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining practices, and union dynamics desired. Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and mediation skills. Ability to build credibility, trust, and relationships with team members, Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and adapting to changing circumstances effectively. Certification as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
