The Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking Highway Maintenance Technicians for our Guardrail Crew in Sheridan, Wyoming.This team completes guardrail maintenance and repair throughout District Four in Northeastern Wyoming.The position offers a culture of public service and a commitment to work/life balance.

Responsibilities
• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently.• Trains incumbents in the operation and maintenance of equipment.• Provide work direction to Highway Maintenance Assistant employees.• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices.• Operates trucks and equipment to remove snow and ice from roadways.• Rehabilitates roadway surfaces and traffic control devices.• Maintains equipment and facilities in rest areas.• Attends and completes required training.• Communicates work status and process effectiveness.• Performs duties involved in removing snow and ice from roadways.• Performs structural and concrete repair work.
Requirements
• Must have the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License.• Must have the ability to obtain certifications for operating specified equipment, defensive driving, first aid/CPR, and flagging.• Knowledge of state highway maintenance and highway construction standards.• Knowledge of state highway pavement marking and signing standards.• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.• Knowledge of hazardous materials response procedures.• Knowledge of Federal and State requirements for personal protective equipment.• Ability to operate trucks and equipment.• Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds independently.• Availability for emergency work calls, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
