Summary: Lighthouse is seeking a highly-motivated and organized Grant Director to lead and implement the organization's grant management strategy and process. This includes maintaining and strengthening relationships with current and future funders, conducting prospect research, gathering documentation, writing proposals, and completing grant reporting. This role would work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners and would need to maintain excellent communication and accurate tracking and reporting.
The Grant Director position is a full-time position. This position will report directly to the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
Responsibilities: Oversee the development and implementation of grant-seeking strategies to secure funding from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
Lead the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
Manage the grants calendar to track proposal submissions, report due dates, and renewal opportunities.
Coordinate with finance and program departments to develop budgets and narrative reports that accurately reflect the organization's needs and objectives.
Establish and maintain relationships with funders and potential donors through regular communication and updates on project progress and outcomes.
Gather accurate information on internal programs, collect research related to requests, and work collaboratively on setting goals and budgets for program requests.
Write and submit compelling Letters of Intent and grant proposals by funder deadlines, including writing and editing all narratives, data requests, budgets, and more.
Maintain existing grant relationships and work to steward new relationships within the funding community while ensuring that all funders are given accurate and timely updates.
Maintain accurate grant records in Lighthouse's database, including grant submissions, budgets, signed agreements, reports, financial requirements, and other relevant documents.
Attend grant informational meetings and trainings.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field or 5+ years experience
5+ years of experience in grant writing and management
Collaborative and strategic individual with the ability to work across various departments to achieve unique yet interconnected goals
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
Demonstrated track record of grant management, writing and cultivation
Flexibility and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment
Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff and volunteers
Exceptional communication ability, both written and oral
Ability to build consensus and resolve conflict with internal and external partners
Preferred Qualifications 6+ years' experience in a role directly related to grant writing and management
An understanding of the social constructs impacting those experiencing economic instability
Experience or knowledge pertaining to affordable housing and food insecurity
Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge
Federal grant experience
Proven ability to work effectively with racially and ethnically diverse clients and teams
Exceptional communication ability, both written and oral.
Ability to listen and accept feedback constructively.
