Responsibilities
• Perform repairs and maintenance on water distribution systems, valves, hydrants, meters, mains• Perform repairs and maintenance on wastewater collection systems, mains, manholes, clean outs, etc.• Maintain and clean wet wells, lift stations, grounds, facilities, and related equipment• Prepare orders for maintenance materials, supplies, spare parts, and equipment• Report equipment problems and make necessary adjustments• Maintain records and prepare reports• Coordinate work of outside utility maintenance contractors• Follow company's environmental, health, and safety policies• Drive company vehicle during work hours• Assist with operational tasks as directed
Requirements
• Hands-on experience in light duty electrical power systems and instrumentation calibration• Ability to use and direct excavation crews for repairs of underground utilities• Knowledge of mechanical operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and water and wastewater systems• Knowledge of electrical systems related to equipment• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and telemetry equipment• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code• Knowledge of water and wastewater processes• Knowledge of health and safety regulations• High school diploma or GED• Additional trade specific courses preferred• Five years' experience in maintenance of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems
Key Skills Needed
• Experience in maintenance of water distribution systems• Ability to operate basic water distribution and wastewater collection systems independently• Knowledge of health and safety regulations• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code• Ability to use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and other small equipment• Ability to direct excavation crews• Knowledge of mechanical operation and maintenance• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and telemetry equipment• Ability to operate light duty electrical power systems• Ability to calibrate and use instrumentation
