General Ledger Accountant I (Cash or Treasury) Granger Medical Clinic is looking for a skilled and motivated General Ledger Accountant I who can strike the right balance of process and accounting integrity with business practicality to join our growing accounting team. To be successful in this position you must have superior attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, inquisitive and analytical mindset. Strong planning and problem-solving skills, Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and accounts receivable procedures, and proficiency with computers, especially with Excel, Sage, and QuickBooks.
Our ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of accounting experience prior to the position, being able to keep and maintain an organized record of vendors. The other aspect of the position will be to assist our operations department in processing internal purchase orders. The candidate for this position needs to be proficient in Excel.
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours weekly
Salary: $54,000 - $60,000 a year
The General Ledger Accountant I's responsibilities include: Maintain bank account management, including opening and closing accounts, updating signatories, mergers & acquisitions, and daily and monthly reconciling.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules relating to Facility allocations, Lease Security Deposit allocations, Production allocations, Rebate allocations, Pop Health allocations and Employer Clinic allocations
Assist with annual audit preparation
Data Analytics and spreadsheets using database connections with a strong financial analysis skills
Cash Forecast
Maintain and reconcile personal property tax and process annual filings
Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions including, monitor payments, resolve discrepancies, process payments, verify and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, prepare deposits, and monitor the aging report.
Provides accounting assistance to Controller, Assistant Controller, responds to operations and revenue cycle questions/concerns to meet organizational needs.
General Ledger Accountant I Requirements: Proven work experience in an accounting function.
Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
Problem-solving skills.
Proven experience automating job tasks and creating efficiencies.
Solid team member with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
Willingness to own other tasks as assigned.
More specific day to day tasks for the Accounts Receivable Specialist will consist of: Reconciling multiple bank accounts daily.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verifies customer accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
