Fulghum Crane Operator Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Fulghum Crane Operator to join the team at our OSB facility in Fordyce, AR. The 155 ft Fulghum Crane is an essential operating function of the OSB process at Fordyce.
Operators must have the ability to pay close and careful attention to detail. This position involves feeding logs into the mill for process consumption, unloading log trucks and stacking logs correctly, and rotating logs across the radial storage area in prioritization for production. Crane duties also include performing routine maintenance on crane equipment and making daily operator rounds to ensure that the crane is in safe operating condition. This role will require working 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Our Team

What You Will Do Safe and efficient operating of Log Yard Crane on a rail system Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least twelve (12) hours a day to unload log trucks safely and without damage to equipment Keep log supply to mill consistent with production needs Stack in a neat and orderly fashion to maximize storage and minimize losses Ensure proper rotation of logs in storage area Complete daily inspections and checklists Maintain a clean and orderly workplace following strict safety rules and regulations, to include safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs Operate equipment in a way that is safe, productive and minimizes breakdowns Work with maintenance on the radial crane to maximize uptime and operational efficiency Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment Experience working with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments Experience working with computers for record keeping and documentation functions What Will Put You Ahead Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating a crane in a lumber or wood products environment Experience performing preventative maintenance schedules (PMS) in a manufacturing or industrial environment Experience operating production equipment or large industrial equipment
